Blogging

Why is it that blogging is so popular? Have we given up the dream of writing the great American novel in hopes of writing the great internet blog? Are we hoping to get noticed? have a following? Or is it just an easier way to keep a diary....a very public diary! For attention, to blow off steam, to practice our skills, to waste time? Probably there are as many reasons to blog as there are different kinds of personalities out there.

I am an idea man (no I don't have women's lib issues with using the general term for non gender specific MANKIND). I come up with all kinds of ideas all the time, and some of them are actually good ideas:) The point I was going to make, though, is that while I am good at coming up with ideas, I am not always so good at carrying through with them. I started blogging a few months ago and had quite the list of ideas of things I wanted to blog about. Here I am 4 or 5 blogs later, and much time in between. So what kept me from blogging after my first burst of energy? Well, a bout of depression was the main thing. Just was going through a very hard time and didn't have the heart to take the time to do it. A couple other small reasons factored in there, but the fact that this IS public, though I'm not sure any one but me (and maybe my Mom) will read it, I choose not to state any other reason. Suffice it to say that I have worked through my issues and am back up and blogging...like a large percentage of the population out there :)

So, thank you Lord, for the opportunity to blog, to get my thoughts out there in cyberspace where anyone who wants to can share.
Happy blogging!
