I am not a closet Christian. Any one who knows me at all knows that God, prayer, praise, enter my conversation on a regular basis. He is a big part of who I am, how I am, what I am, no question in my mind about that. I'm not real great about the evangelistic side of things, I prefer to gently example the life Christ would have us lead, and then answer question that may arise. I have, on more than one occasion, raised questions and offered suggestions to people I would love to see in His kingdom, but for the most part hope to just be available for any who seek and have questions.
Though I am a Christ follower, I am not a crowd follower, maybe even a bit of a rebel if you will. I like being different, independent. I do not jump in and do something, wear something, try something because so many others are/have. Guess I've always marched to the beat of a different drummer so to speak.
Having said all that.....I get so annoyed with these emails and facebook posts that say you HAVE to forward/post these certain things to prove you are a Christian. For me, NOT doing it says more about my Christianity than doing it. Why? Because that is not what being a Christian is to me. I may agree with what is being said, but I do not feel the need to prove myself to anyone by passing on a story some one else told or made up. If I really like the message told, I will erase the end message that says to send it on to however many people, because I want to enjoy it for what it is and I don't want anyone else to think I am trying to pressure them into sending it on. Being a Christian is so much more than whether or not you send on an email or post a certain profile message. And as for me, I would rather proclaim my faith in another way.
